Our dog would spend all day in bed

Our dog would spend the whole day in bed, if she could.

and I understand how she feels

there was a time in my life

I felt the same way.

We leave her in there

under the covers in the warm sheets

and let her decide when she’s ready to get up.

It’s best that way.

Carpe diem, seize the day…it’s not for everyone.

It reminds me of a sign

hanging from the door knob of a fancy hotel

the sort of sign that’s meant

to keep housekeeping at bay.
